The world is evolving and with the introduction of alternate fields and energy sources, it’s time to make a few changes with the India Energy Week.

Hence, here comes the Indian Energy Week, a revolutionary expo that encompasses humongous chains of energy giants participating to propel the world into the next energy future.

India Energy Week 2024:

The Indian Energy Week was established in the year 2023 by India’s PM Shri Narendra Modi.

riding high on the success of the 2023 edition, which was initiated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the India Energy week is back and is set to be hosted in everyone’s favourite location Goa, India from 6–9 February, 2024.

The aspects that make this event a special one are that it welcomes world leaders in the energy sector to be a part of the expo.

The India Energy Week is held under the Watchful eye of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India and is also officially supported by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI).

The Indian Energy Week 2024 is also considered to be India’s largest and most exclusive energy exhibition and conference, bringing together the entire energy value chain. The event is set to bring together several new enhancements in the Indian energy sector and also serve to extend India’s energy transition goals.

The Event is set to welcome a whopping 35,000 attendees, 350 exhibitors, 400 speakers and 4000+ delegates from over 100+ countries. Something tells me the beaches of Goa are set to witness large tourism as well.

The Indian Energy Week will welcome convening policymakers. business leaders and energy pioneers for collaborations, discovering new opportunities and also aiding in strengthening partnerships.

Who’s attending the India Energy Week 2024?

Among the several dignitaries that will be attending the function, there are a few big names in the fold as well.

The secretary general of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Haitham Al Ghais will be making an appearance.

Also, Russia’s largest oil company Rosneft PJSC’s CEO Igor Sechin, the president and CEO of Malaysia’s state-run Petroliam Nasional Bhd(Petronas) Tengku Muhammad Taufil and the entire board will also be attending the event.

In a surprising turn of events, Saudi Aramco, one of the largest energy industrialists is a sponsor as well for the event. PM Modi is scheduled to meet with the global oil and CEOs in a routable discussion as well.

Adding to this impressive list, the Energy Ministers of Guyana, Nigeria, Iraq and Sri Lanka are also expected to be present among others.

What is the purpose of India Energy Week?

After the success of the 2023 Indian Energy Week, India’s beloved PM Sri Narendra Modi didn’t want to stop there just yet. The main purpose of India Energy Week 2024 is to welcome policymakers, business leaders and also energy experts to uncover new opportunities and strengthen partnerships with neighbouring nations.

In an official statement on Sunday, the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had this to say:

“In just 2 years, India Energy Week has become a prominent part of the global energy calendar. With the swiftly growing major economy, an ever-expanding consumer base and an inviting investment climate, we’ve carved out a niche in the energy landscape.”

From a bird’s eye view perspective, the united presence of global oil, and gas companies and also the PM’s meeting with their chiefs have come at the proper time when India is looking forward to increasing the oil and gas exploration in the nation. This is being done to raise domestic hydrocarbon production and reduce imports from other nations. With 85% of India’s energy requirements catering through imports, India seeks ways to move away from imports and focus on their domestic mediums.

Final Note:

With this week’s India Energy Week events scheduled from February 06th — 09th, 2024, the flagship events have all eyes on them.

The event is set to see key stakeholders come together in Goa, India to discuss the country’s oil demand, escalating tension in the Middle East and the Red Sea region in hopes of pushing towards new energy mediums.
